WHAT IS RECLAIMED WOOD?

The term reclaimed wood refers to any wood that is has been repurposed for a new project. Reclaimed wood comes from all over the globe, and each piece has its own unique history. 

It carries with it a sense of character and personality that cannot be replicated by new wood. The knots, old nail holes, scratches, gaps, cracks, and different tones set reclaimed wood apart from the crowd. 

At Handmade by Kontrast., we retain as many natural rustic characteristics as we can. That is to ensure that our bespoke handmade furniture pieces are as interesting and beautiful as they can be, setting them apart from the mainstream.

WHAT WOOD DO YOU USE?

We use a wide range of mixed softwoods in our creations, all of which are sustainably sourced. A large selection of our products are made from pine wood that comes from Northern and Eastern Europe. 
Our products are made from solid wood, not laminate. 
We also offer solid Oak herringbone table tops. 

DO YOUR ITEMS LOOK EXACTLY LIKE ON THE PHOTO?

Whilst the overall look of the product will be as close to the listing as possible, they do vary slightly based on the timber available at the time. 
Our typical product listing shows a variation of different table tops, so you'd be able to see potential differences. Please also see the customer photos on our website and Google. 

We are happy to customise our handmade furniture. If you are looking for a certain wood tone or finish, just let us know and we'll give you a quote. 

ARE THE DIMENSIONS EXACT?

The nature of timber means that the dimensions of your product may be slightly different to those given in the description. Please allow for a tolerance of 0.5 - 1cm in each product. 

CAN I ORDER A BESPOKE ITEM FROM YOU OR CHANGE THE SIZE, COLOUR OR FINISH?

We are more than happy to make something that is specific to your needs. Typical customisations we can implement are changes to the size and finish. It might also be possible to mix & match different table tops and legs you see on our website (even if not listed separately). 
In order to create a quote for a piece of bespoke handmade furniture, we need the following information:

• Your preferred table model (or a photo reference)
• Your ideal dimensions
• Which finish(s) you prefer (feel free to send us swatches)

DO YOUR PRODUCTS REQUIRE ASSEMBLY? IS IT EASY TO ATTACH THE LEGS? 

Our tables arrive fully constructed, but the legs will be unattached. We don't make any pilot holes so you have the freedom to decide where you'd like to place the legs, taking into account your seating arrangement.

The leg assembly guide will be sent with your order. The legs come with suitable screws.

Follow the instructions and your piece of bespoke handmade furniture will be ready in no time. 

WHAT IF I'M NOT HAPPY WITH MY ORDER?
We work hard to make bespoke handmade furniture that our customers love. In the unfortunate event that your purchase does not meet reasonable expectations, do not hesitate to get in touch with us to work out a solution. 

CAN I USE MY TABLE OUTSIDE? 
Our tables are specifically designed for indoor use.
Although our Hardwax Oil finishes offer some protection from the elements, we wouldn't recommend outdoor use.
